Meet Our Team – Anne Stewart

We are proud to introduce Anne Stewart, our Clinical Lead Podiatrist and Clinical Director at Borders Podiatry and Performance Clinic. As the founding member of our clinic, Anne has been instrumental in shaping the high standards of care and professionalism that define our practice today.

Anne qualified from Queen Margaret University in 2005 and began her career working for the NHS, where she specialised in diabetic care and wound management. Her passion for helping patients manage complex podiatric conditions quickly established her as an expert in these areas, particularly in diabetic foot care. Later in 2005, Anne took a significant step by starting her own podiatry business, offering home visits to ensure that patients, especially those with mobility challenges, could receive the care they needed. Through her dedication and commitment to patient care, this home visit service gradually evolved into what is now Borders Podiatry and Performance Clinic—a leading podiatry clinic known for its excellence in patient care and innovative treatment approaches.

With a special interest in diabetic care and core podiatry services, such as treating corns, calluses, and ingrown toenails, Anne continues to provide highly specialised care that improves the quality of life and foot health of her patients. Her leadership extends beyond the clinic as she has secured and maintains multiple care home contracts throughout the Scottish Borders. She is trusted with the care of their residents, ensuring they receive consistent, high-quality podiatric care. Her work in these care homes reflects her strong organisational skills and deep dedication to the well-being of the elderly and vulnerable in our community.

Anne strongly believes that keeping moving is essential to well-being, both physically and mentally. To embody this belief, she has committed to running daily for over a year. Anne has completed numerous half marathons throughout the Borders and took great pleasure in competing in the Loch Ness 24-hour race, where she impressively ran over 70km. Her dedication to running not only demonstrates her personal commitment to health and fitness but also serves as an inspiration to her patients.

At Borders Podiatry and Performance Clinic, we are dedicated to providing access to products that support and enhance the performance of our athletes. Anne personally curates our product offering, ensuring that, where possible, we supply tried and tested items of the highest quality. Her careful selection of products reflects her commitment to helping our patients achieve their best, whether in recovery or performance enhancement. Despite her many achievements, Anne often doesn’t sing her own praises enough, but it’s clear that without her leadership and vision, the clinic would not be the award-winning business it is today. Recently, Borders Podiatry and Performance Clinic was honoured with the titles of Most Pioneering Podiatry Clinic in Scotland and won the Scottish Borders Small Business Award. These accolades are a testament to Anne’s hard work, dedication, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

Anne is also an active contributor to the podiatry profession. She not only spoke at but also hosted the Foot and Ankle Show in 2023, Europe’s largest foot and ankle conference, where she shared her knowledge and experience with fellow professionals. Beyond her professional speaking engagements, Anne is committed to community education. She regularly hosts information evenings for local residents, providing valuable advice on foot care and emphasising the importance of maintaining podiatric health.

At Borders Podiatry and Performance Clinic, Anne’s leadership and vision have been the foundation of our success. Her extensive knowledge, combined with her dedication to patient care, ensures that our clinic remains at the forefront of podiatric services in the region. We are honoured to have Anne Stewart as our Clinical Lead Podiatrist and Clinical Director, and we look forward to the continued impact she will have on our patients and the broader community.
