Foot Mobilisation and Manipulation

Joint mobilisation and manipulation is a long established hands on manual therapy that’s aims to move the joints and bones in the foot and ankle in a safe and controlled manner. Previously used mainly by physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths, foot mobilisation techniques (FMT) are now used by specialist Podiatrists who use the mobilisation and manipulation to restore joint function, range of motion and to reduce pain. Generally FMT is not painful however as the treatment is often carried out on injured areas there can be some discomfort. There are very few treatment options which give immediate benefit to pain and loss of function but FMT is one that can achieve this. One of treatments can guide significant results however sometime multiple treatment may be required for more long standing conditions or injuries.
